Love of Birds

Hi friends! This is my inspiration for you this week in the new challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. You know how I love A Day For Daisies images and they are our sponsor this week so I'm in heaven!

Here's the sketch to follow in this week's challenge. Obviously you can choose, as I did, a variety of embellishment treatments in place of the stars.  Give the sketch a try - it turns out lovely.

A Day For Daisies is our sponsor this week and we always look forward to using the gorgeous images that Tammy creates for her store. There's a wonderful selection for any occasion. The grand prize winner will receive a $12 gift certificate to the A Day For Daisies store. This is a fabulous prize!

I chose this beautiful image, Love of Birds, to create my card this week. The colors are a little softer than I usually choose and I went for an antiqued look as well with distressing done on edges. The coloring was done with Copic markers and a little bit of Prismacolor pencils to add in touches of rose in the gown to add depth and on the birds to reflect the rose color and tie it all in.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye.

I sure hope you join us in the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge this week. Head on over to the site to see other beautiful inspiration cards created for you by the design team.

Flower Pot Zinnia

Welcome back friends! We have a great sponsor this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the new challenge. It's Lacy Sunshine Stamps and what a whopping selection of fantastic digis you'll find at this web store! But first let's start with the challenge sketch...

It's a blast from the past sketch to follow this week. This sketch originally appeared at Sweet Sketch Wednesday in October 2012. (Can't believe that was three years ago!)  I happen to have rotated the sketch to fit my image in the challenge this week.

Heather Valentin and her stamp company Lacy Sunshine is our sponsor of the challenge this week. You really have to visit her site and see the incredible selection and variety of images she offers. We're so happy to welcome her back as our sponsor and the grand prize winner will receive three free images from Lacy Sunshine. Thanks Heather for your generous sponsorship!

The image I chose from Lacy Sunshine is from the Flower Pot Pretties collection called Zinnia. I think the images in this collection are so creative and fun to bring to life with Copic markers as I did here. The papers are Stella Rose from My Mind's Eye and the flower created with a MS punch.

Be sure to stop over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and see some more wonderful images from Lacy Sunshine on the design team cards - you just love the creativity there.

Little Acorn Bird

Happy Autumn friends! Today is the first day of fall and what a great way to welcome my favorite season with an Autumn themed card. This is for the new sketch challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday featuring the wonderful images from Sami Stamps.

Here's the sketch to follow for the challenge. It really looks terrific in real life, especially with a fun, unique embellishment in the lower left corner.

Sami Stamps is our sponsor for this challenge. What lovely images you'll find there, all drawn by owner Samantha Siemers Ratliff.  We adore creating with Sami Stamps and you will too. The lucky grand prize winner of the challenge will receive a $12 gift certificate to Sami Stamps. That could be you if you play along with us this week!

Thanks Samantha for your generous sponsorship!

I chose this adorable Little Acorn Bird from Sami Stamps for my card. I thought it was perfect for the first day of Fall. It was colored with Copic markers and color enhancements made with Prismacolor pencils. I love the effect of the pencils over the markers - especially in getting a warm glow on parts of the image as though it was reflecting the sun.  The papers are Stampin' Up from several years ago. I also thought I'd have fun with the embellishment and pulled the acorns from my crafting stash. I like this custom touch to this layout.

Flower Wreath

Welcome back! Today I'm showcasing the new sketch for the challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. We're featuring images from Digi Stamp Boutique, our challenge sponsor.

Here's the sketch to follow. Nothing complicated here but it fits large images quite well and looks great in its simplicity.

Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique is our monthly sponsor and we look forward to using the wonderful images she offers in her shop each month. The grand prize winner will receive a £10 voucher to Digi Stamp Boutique - a fantastic prize package. Thanks Sally Ann!

I'm fortunate to also be a guest designer for Digi Stamp Boutique. Visit the Digi Stamp Boutique Blog and DSB Facebook page to see more terrific card samples with DSB images - you'll love the creativity you see there.

I'm featuring the Colour Flower Set, new at DSB. It comes with precolored images and black line art. I colored the image with Copic markers, cut additional flowers out and popped them up for dimension. A bunch of glittery rhinestones adorn the flower centers as a sparkly addition. Papers are from Crate Paper.

Sweet Nectar

Boy am I late in getting this card posted! Life and its hectic, busy pace succumbed me the past week and I'm not getting caught up very fast either. I created this card for the current challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday - hopefully it will inspire you to play along in our challenge this week.

Here's the sketch to follow for the challenge. It's a nice sketch from Sally. It looks good rotated too.

Pattie Gomez owner and illustrator at Pattie's Creations is our sponsor this week. Our grand prize winner of the challenge will get to pick two free images from Pattie's Etsy Shop. Thanks for the generous sponsorship Pattie!

I chose this beautiful image called Sweet Nectar from Pattie's Creations. It was colored with Copic markers and the papers used are by DCWV. The border around the image panel was created with a MS flower punch - lots of them adhered the edges of the oval.

Now stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a peek at the other wonderful cards created by the team using Pattie's Creations digi stamps.
